Job Hunt Again

My contract here in South Africa ends in September, and it seems unlikely that I'll renew.  Lisa and I enjoy living here, and I love the work I'm doing, but it doesn't seem like I'm going to be looking at a compensation plan that works for me in 2007.  So, I'm back on the hunt for new employment, and I thought that this might be a good place to solicit some options & opportunities.

A lot of readers here are probably familiar with my work history, but just in case, I'm attaching
my CV.  Yes, I would like generally to continue working with Notes/Domino technologies, but that includes so many possibilities these days that it's not much of a constraint.  I'm equally at home in browser/AJAX development as I am in Notes client development, and my system administration history is pretty much as strong as my development history.  It's been a while since I've done any real lecture teaching, but I don't think those skills are likely to dry up.

We're thinking we'd like to move back to the US, but I'm open to considering any English-speaking place in the world, (Ireland or Australia have huge appeal) although we have two dogs that there's simply no way we'd quarantine.  In the States, any major urban area works for me, in addition to not-so urban Florida or South Carolina (we have family in both areas.)

I don't have any particular compensation requirements.  More money is always good, of course, but I've taken a number of jobs over my career that didn't pay too well but were fun and interesting, and that makes up for a lot.  I'll also tend to give up cash for a relaxed environment -- leaving at 5 everyday makes up for some income.
But if you have a high-paying, commission driven, work-like-a-maniac-for-tons-of-money opportunity, I'm open for that, too.  My one limitation is that I don't like to travel a lot.

Almost the last two years have been completely in the health care industry, but before that, I've got experience in music publishing, finance, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, market research... you name it.  I counted once having engaged with something like 40 different Forture 1000 companies so far in my career, so there's pretty much nothing that's truly unfamiliar.

I'm only listing email as a contact (or a response to this post, of course) simply because I hate doing international phone calls on my cell here in South Africa.

So if you think I could bring value to your team, let me know.  I'll be following this up with a series of Show-n-Tell posts on what I've been working on for the past year.  There's some interesting things we've been doing with code-standards and UI approach that will hopefully engender some good discussion.

Oh, and one last thing, if she's reading this,
Mary Beth can have me at my desk for the Hannover team by Sep 10th if she wants to extend the offer.
