What a game

Man, I don't have any stake in this game.  (I wanted the Packers to make it all the way.)  But did anyone see this coming?  What a nail-biter!

Mitch Cohen is going insane right now.  :)

I wonder what Bob Costas is thinking tonight?

(For non-US readers, tonight was the American equivalent of the World Cup.  Really GIANT sports event that everyone in the country watches.  And the result was a major upset.  That's all you really need to know for things to make sense.)

UPDATE:  By the way, if you're a Yellow-bleeder who's also a Patriots fan, who's bent out of shape, lemme point something out: the underdog won.  You should be cheering.  That is all.

Comments

1 - Not a true Patriots fan - I live for the Bears.

This is the second time I got to watch the Patriots lose in the Super Bowl and while I wanted to see a perfect season, it is always nice to see an underdog fight tooth and nail to win it at the end. Ro

2 - I'm not a big fan of either team, but I was happy to see the Giants win. It was a really good game.

3 - I am a Steelers fan, but I was pulling for the Pats to pull it out in the end because I am a Michigan fan (for those not knowing, Brady was Michigan's QB). But great game anyway.

P.S. - Yellow is a standard for me... Steelers(black and gold), Michigan(Maise and Blue), Lotus... well you know Emoticon

4 - Great Superbowl, Great finish for the Giants! Back in September when the Giants were 0-2 could not have seen this coming.

5 - @3 - Hey Mike - Armani Toomer plays for the Giants. And didn't *he* make a couple of nice catches in the game? (Ty Law also used to play for the Giants, so there's a Michigan connection either way.)

I never attended the big Blue U, but grew up in Ann Arbor, and so have been a fan all my life.

6 - Bob who?

7 - Wait ... this is all wrong. It wasn't supposed to be like that.

Eli was supposed to choke. Throw a pick to Asante Samuel and shamefully lose it all, to be flogged by the angry masses upon his return.

boohoohoo ... it's not fair!!!

But seriously. Despite my allegiance to the Pats, it was simply awesome to watch Eli and the Giants all the way through the playoffs. They grew as a team. Prevailed. Then came back with even more focus.

The Giants defensive line and linebackers just killed the Pats offense the entire game. And when they do that, and Eli is able to keep his cool on top of that, and simply deliver on a very determined final drive, then you get to be the champions.

Much as I would have loved to see 19-0, it wasn't to be. The Pats were beaten by a better team on the day!

Of course, there is always NEXT YEAR!!!
