Prescient comic strips

In case you aren't a Firefly fan, River Tam turned out to be a wicked badass fighter who was played by Summer Glau. Now go rent the DVDs immediately.
I'm a huge fan of XKCD.  And a few months back, Randall posted this gem of an idea.  It turns out that he was eerily prescient, since Fox has cast Summer Glau in the role of a Terminatrix in the new series: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

If I could find a way to strike back at the Hollywood Writers Guild for their strike (which is quickly destroying my taste for what I considered the second Golden Age of TV) I would certainly do it -- they're ruining a number of my favorite shows.  But I must confess that I'm very excited about The Sarah Connor Chronicles, and am really looking forward to the premier on Jan 13.  Hopefully this won't be another brilliant series that Fox is too stupid to sustain.

1 - I tell ya...I'm not a big TV fan, but you are dead on. Besides "Heroes" (of which I have to admit I have not seen any of Season 2), Fox is the only network to come up with shows that I have a passing interest in watching. All of those you mention are so good...with "Arrested Development" being one of my favorites. Ah well...I'm completely cutting the cable come the end of January when my Dish contract runs out. Then, no more TV in our house except shows on DVD! Emoticon

2 - Ah, The Tick. One of my all time favorite cartoons, and a vastly under rated live action show. Warburton was fabulous. I couldn't have picked a better Tick (no pun intended). I was so sad to see it go. Yes, it was quirky as hell, but I really thought it was finding it's stride towards the end. Corporate greed rules all in the entertainment world, unfortunately.

3 - @2 - Fortunately, Warburton has found life after The Tick. He was funny in "Big Trouble" and makes "Rules of Engagement" worth watching all by himself.

4 - So what did you think of Part 1 last night?

Personally I thought the writers did a good job of setting up the series while still providing enough explosions to make the Attention Deficit Disorders guys among us happy.

5 - Meant to ask if you watched it last night - I did. We're watching the 2nd one now! Did you catch the address of the computer store that John was in?
