Lotus AppDev Design Partner Group launch!

Just finished up the kick off call for Bob Balaban's Application Development Design Partner group.  Think of every Notes development blogger you've been reading for the last 4 years.  Now put them all on a conference call.  Have Bob referee.  And GO!

Actually, it was a surprisingly quiet call, but I think that's in part because we aren't discussing specifics yet.  When we start looking at detailed topics, I imagine this group is going to get pretty loud.

Comments

1 - Not every Notes development blogger is a business partner. Emoticon

2 - Neither is every member of the AppDev DP group, Charles. Emoticon

3 - Every Notes dev blogger? Really? Hm.

*looks around*

Not so much.... Emoticon

4 - Okay okay.... not EVERY development blogger...

Just the good ones. *rim shot* Emoticon

Only joking, Rob... but yeah, there's only so many seats at the table. I'm not free to publish the entire roster, but I think if you saw it, you'd consider it pretty comprehensive of developer interests.

Hopefully some of the other participants will raise their hands soon.

5 - Well, I will raise my hand. Nathan and I were the tag team on issues for the 8 DP program. I believe Nathan and I have different priorities for this App Dev DP program Emoticon

6 - Well, I ended up a little cranky...

I got Jan's email for the call about 15 minutes before it was supposed to start, with no prior notice of when it was supposed to be, and on top of that, I was denied access to the meeting info and slides.

I hope they actually do the "possible second kickoff call", since I'd rather like to show up to that one.

7 - * sheepishly raises hand *

In fairness, I think Jan and the team did a good job, it's just that they're dealing with a bit of an unknown quantity (cough). There were some logistics to iron out -- for example, I was chased on my lack of response to the original invite a few weeks back... but the original invite never got to me, as the mail address used was wrong.

(And don't get me started on the invite not being internationalised re timing!)

But hey, these things will iron out, and we mustn't lose sight of how positive a move this is on IBM's part. I come from a big organisation, and can appreciate the cultural shift taking place before our very eyes Emoticon

8 - I certainly do agree, Ben.

We sent Jan an email requesting that things get unb0rked for us, and we'll be ready to roll. :)
