The state I'm in

Lunchtime conversation was football, barbeque and women shooting guns.  Can you suggest location-appropriate topics for tomorrow?

Comments

1 - Know anything about bird dogs or pickup trucks?

2 - Oh - wow - makes me long for my home state. How about talking food: It's okra season (always a good debate topic), the Vidalia onions are here, and did the Easter freeze kill all the peaches?

O - and what kinds of guns? Pistols, rifles or shotguns? Personally, I'm better with a shotgun..

3 - I bet you'd get a lively debate going if you talk about Redskins football... Emoticon

4 - Note: the state is not Georgia. I'm on the road.

Maybe I should point out that the women shooting guns was competitive target shooting with muzzle loaders.

Or maybe I should just point out that the state flag here flies at the same height as the Stars & Stripes.

5 - I think you'll have to get more specific.
What state DOESN'T do football (at least at the college level)?
Who in America DOESN'T barbeque?
Women shooting guns could either be a big-city thing (protection) or a rural thing (hunting). In either case, it still applies to just about every state.

Target shooting with *muzzle loaders* does suggest that it might be a state that was involved in the Civil War, though. Or it could be out west (pioneer).

So, more specifics?

6 - AH - the flag thing - you must be in Texas - they don't consider themselves a state.

I can't hit the broad side of a barn with a muzzle loader.

7 - I don't think you should shoot women, in most cases you can make peace with them just by talking nicely to them.
